POSITION
A full-time Chef’s position is available in Golden Grove, South Australia.
SKILLS
You must have a relevant Diploma Qualification and at least 2 years of work experience relevant to the position. If no formal qualification, at least three years of relevant work experience is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Chef, you will lead our restaurant's kitchen, managing the food preparation team and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests. You will be responsible for designing and adjusting the menu based on seasonal ingredient availability and guest preferences, while also creating unique and innovative dishes that encourage repeat visits. In this role, you will actively participate in cooking specialty dishes and assist with food preparation tasks as needed. Additionally, you will ensure that all orders meet guests' requests and dietary requirements, maintaining a smooth workflow in the kitchen. POSITION DUTIES
You will need to undertake the following duties:
* Set up the kitchen with all necessary utensils, equipment, knives, pans, etc.
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.
* Cook food in a timely manner and inform Front of House staff about wait times.
* Ensure appealing plate presentation and modify recipes to accommodate customer needs and requests.
* Monitor food stock levels and check the freshness of ingredients, discarding any out-of-date items.
* Create and execute high-quality new dishes while developing menus based on seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
* Oversee and participate in meal preparation, ensuring dishes meet health and safety standards.
* Manage and supervise the kitchen team, including training and coaching Sous Chefs and other staff.
* Create and manage the kitchen's time schedules and rostering for optimal staffing levels.
* Respond to guests' special requests or dietary needs, adjusting orders as required.
* Review all food before serving to ensure it meets the restaurant’s quality standards.
* Manage inventory and oversee the proper handling and storage of all food products.
* Work efficiently during peak periods to maintain smooth service and minimise delays.
* Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to regulations regarding the use of knives and high-temperature surfaces.
* Collaborate with the restaurant’s management team on scheduling, ordering and operational needs.
* Supervise meal service to maintain consistency in quality and presentation of dishes.
* Develop and introduce new menu items to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
* Organise and maintain cleanliness and organization of all workstations and kitchen equipment.
* Take on additional tasks, such as cleaning or assisting with other duties when the kitchen is short-staffed or particularly busy.
* Train apprentices and kitchen staff, ensuring they are equipped with necessary skills and knowledge.

SALARY
The salary offered will be $70,000 to $80,000 per annum based on experience.
