We're looking for an Assistant Electorate Officer to join our dynamic team in the Labrador Office of Sam O'Connor MP on the Gold Coast. This is a unique and multifaceted role in which you'll help with administrative tasks in the office, provide support to constituents and local organisations, and take part in broader community engagement activities.
About the role
As an Assistant Electorate Officer, you will work closely with the office team and Sam O'Connor MP to serve the central Gold Coast community of Labrador, Arundel, Parkwood, The Surrounds, the northern part of Southport, most of Biggera Waters and some of Coombabah.
Key responsibilities:
Secretarial Support: Provide direct administrative support
Community Engagement: Engage with constituents and community groups, listening to and advocating for their needs and concerns.
Diary Management: Help maintain the MP's diary, scheduling appointments, meetings, and events .
Correspondence Management: Draft and proofread communications for Ministers and the community.
Social Media: Respond to queries received through social media platforms.
Information Dissemination: Contribute to compiling and distributing newsletters and information updates.
Research: Undertake research on various issues to support the MP's initiatives.
Software Proficiency: Use a range of PC software for diverse administrative tasks.

Requires a proactive approach, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and technical proficiency are essential to succeed in this role.
