Child & Family Health Worker - IdentifiedCollaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally safe and relevant parenting support and care to Aboriginal Families as a Health Worker!Our client is dedicated to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through health and community services addressing domestic and family violence, sexual assault, mental health, child development, and family support.Their mission centres around culturally responsive care, fostering healing and advocacy in Aboriginal communities impacted by trauma.Through a holistic approach, the team collaborates with local agencies, delivering essential services to ensure safety, cultural connection, and empowerment, with a focus on children, families, and individuals at risk of or recovering from violence and complex trauma.This position is Aboriginal identified.To perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the role be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander woman.It is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 14(d) and 31 of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander females.This role will involve: Support community programs that encourage healthy lifestyle choices in Aboriginal communities.Improve Aboriginal family health through respectful, culturally sensitive care, focusing on primary health principles.Liaise with key stakeholders to strengthen community health initiatives.Role model the organisations core values.Facilitate community programs and engage women through reference groups.Work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver parenting education.Work with local Aboriginal communities to plan, deliver, and evaluate programs, focusing on health promotion.Create strong, culturally appropriate partnerships with local Aboriginal health services to enhance program success.Include Aboriginal women and families in evaluating their own care, sharing findings to improve services.They are looking for candidates with experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and families.
