About the role
We are on the lookout for a dynamic Senior Network Engineer, to join our Network Operations team to identify, implement, maintain and monitor networking solutions alongside mentoring junior network engineers. This role is offered as a 12 months fixed term contract with potential extensions or permanency.
Key Responsibilities include :
1. Install, configure, and maintain data network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, WAN optimizers,
2. Monitor performance and ensure network availability and reliability.
3. Maintain all IP addressing, including assignment of subnets, IP pools and VLAN allocations.
4. Document network and security policies, procedures, design and configurations.
5. Perform 3rd tier support for internal customers.
6. Assist with incident response.
7. Upgrade and maintain infrastructure and systems during appropriate outage windows, which may be outside of business hours.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive knowledge and experience working with enterprise networks combined with with high-level analytical and troubleshooting skills and expert level abilities in maintaining the stability and performance of the network across the organisation.
Knowledge and Experience:
8. Demonstrated knowledge of IP networking and networking protocols.
9. Demonstrated knowledge of LAN/WAN networking and DNS technologies.
10. Demonstrated knowledge of Cisco products (switch/routing, UCS, WLCs, Meraki, ThousandEyes, ISE, Prime, etc)
11. Demonstrated knowledge in network principles and technical understanding of IT security related technologies.
12. Strong Communication skills, including the ability to write procedural, process and reporting documentation.
