Casual Chef - Spring Racing Carnival (HIGA Grade 3) $32.73 - $67.93 p/hWe have an exciting opportunity to join our event catering team for Melbourne Cup Carnival 2024. The role is based at our production kitchen in Hawthorn (Melbourne), working casual shifts, 5/7 day roster. You will need to be available to work from 21 October - 10 November 2024 (including weekends and Public Holidays).As part of our kitchen team, your duties will include:Performing general cooking duties (including baking and pastry making) aligned to current menus.Providing guidance and support to kitchen hands.Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and following SOPs.To succeed in this role, we are looking for applicants who can demonstrate:Completion of an apprenticeship or passing the appropriate trade test and experience in cooking, baking, pastry cooking, and butchering duties.Food Safety Handling and understanding of safe food handling.A team player, with the ability to adapt and change in a growing business environment, and support others to achieve individual and business targets.Good verbal and written communication skills along with strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite and experience working with online document management and auditing systems.Understanding and knowledge of safe working processes and practices.At Cirka, we know our team is our greatest asset, and we pride ourselves on having quality people in all areas of the business.
