The Role: As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services, the Clinical Nurse Specialist - Adult and Community Mental Health:
Is a clinical expert in the area of practice and acts as a clinical resource for nursing, medical and allied health staff in the management of consumers with complex mental health needs.As a senior clinician, provides case management to a designated number of consumers with complex needs, including carer education and consultation.Provides orientation, supervision and support to all nurses within the team and coordinates student nurse placements.You will need: Extensive experience in clinical nursing practice in a variety of settings, with at least five years post-graduate clinical nursing experience directly applicable to Mental Health settings.Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act and Work Health and Safety Act.Highly developed interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.Details of appointment: Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum, with an 11.5% superannuation contribution on top.
In addition, the following allowances may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.Salary Packaging: You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year.
Benefits available to eligible candidates: Payment of $15,000 staged over three years for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate.Professional development and accelerated pathways.A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support.Fitness Passport – access to fitness facilities across Tasmania.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess a specialist mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification.
Current Driver's Licence.
