Principal Sourcing & Vendor Management The Digital Division enables the delivery of AEMO's obligations through technology and improves outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders.
Digital provides services to internal AEMO business units, employees, contractors, subsidiaries such as AEMO Services Ltd, external government bodies and market participants.
Working closely with the Digital teams and other key stakeholders, the purpose of the role is to manage contract & commercial negotiations, lead Digital sourcing and market engagements, perform procurement activities and to assist in uplifting the Digital team's commercial and contract acumen.
This role ensures that assigned categories and supplier engagements align with Digital's business objectives, drive value, mitigate risk, and support delivery of Digital initiatives.
The role will provide commercial and procurement expertise and will collaborate with the Digital Supplier Relationship Manager and Contract Administrator to manage vendor supplier performance and governance.
In addition, the role will identify initiatives that will drive cost savings and value at both a supplier and category level.
Role responsibilities Implementation of Digital supplier service improvement actions.
Identifies constraints and opportunities when negotiating or renegotiating contracts Manages Supplier Relationships and performance in accordance with the Supplier Relationship Management framework Supports Development and implementation of process improvements.
In collaboration with key stakeholders develops strategies for driving value and mitigating risk based on category insights.
Develops and oversees execution of strategies for strategic sourcing events related to Digital products and services Identification and execution of cost savings initiatives across supplier spend categories Ensures contract and supplier related tools and repositories are complete and up to date Experience and knowledge Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and vendor management in Digital procurement Demonstrable experience in contract management, process improvement and/or project management Demonstrable experience in leading large-scale sourcing projects across multiple Digital categories Demonstrable experience in advanced negotiation techniques including relationship- based and competitive bargaining strategies Experience with strategic procurement planning and category management Knowledge of advance strategic sourcing methodologies including total cost of ownership and should cost modelling Understanding of contract law and commercial agreements including risk allocation, compliance and governance Experience in driving cost optimisation and innovation through supplier collaboration Education/ Certificates Tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in an appropriate procurement & supply chain, commerce, accounting, business, or similar qualification Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) level 5 or 6, Australian Institute of Procurement & Contract Management (AIPCM) Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) or equivalent Lean Six Sigma Certification Due to the requirements of this role, you must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance.
