CASPA SERVICES LTD – POSITION VACANCY – House Coordinator – Katherine, NT Make a difference in the lives of children, young people, families and communities across Katherine, Northern Territory, particularly Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse groups An evidence and research-based approach that values innovative thought and creativity Full Time, fixed term until 31 Dec 2026 ABOUT THE ROLE This is an excellent opportunity for a House Coordinator in the Youth Work and Community Services sector to lead a dedicated team of Therapeutic Care Workers, providing essential support to CASPA's children and young people. The role demands a deep understanding of policies, procedures, client schedules, and support plans, which are crucial for effectively supervising and guiding your team in delivering trauma-informed, high-quality therapeutic care. Key Responsibilities: Provide direction, coordination and support to the Therapeutic Care Residential Work staff Active supervision of all Therapeutic Care Residential Workers Induction and Orientation of new staff Development of schedule and care plan for resident young person, with Therapeutic Specialist and Hub manager and ensure implementation Develop, implement, and maintain residential care roster in accordance with SCHADS Award Lead and contribute to a positive team culture through regular team and clinical meetings Ensure houses are maintained in accordance with the Statutory Standards of Care Administration, report writing and compliance responsibilities Contribute to a positive team culture WHS responsibilities Skills & Experience Understanding and empathy for vulnerable families, children and young people with complex needs who have suffered childhood trauma and neglect Ability to support staff working in difficult conditions, including vicarious trauma related incidents Demonstrated understanding of the demands of Statutory Out of Home Care High level interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally) with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders Demonstrated leadership skills including conflict resolution and effective communication and experience in staff supervision, coaching and supporting staff working in difficult conditions Demonstrated ability to monitor therapeutic plans for clients Demonstrated ability to relate to children and young people who have suffered early childhood trauma and neglect Significant rostering experience On the ground youth work experience QUALIFICATIONS Desired: Tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Youth Work, Mental Health, Social Science or other relevant field
