Job Title: Locum General Practitioner - Charters Towers, Queensland.
Job Type: Temporary / Contract
Hours: Full-Time
Proposed Locum Period: 15th July 2024 until 29th December 2024
Practice Information:
This medical centre has been caring for the health of the Charters Towers community for over 30 years. They have expanded from a one-doctor practice in 1985 to a nine-doctor practice with ten nurses and numerous visiting allied health providers. The practice aims to provide the highest quality medical care as courteously and effectively as possible, ensuring excellence in all aspects of practice. They provide a comprehensive range of General Practice health services, from childhood immunisations to chronic diseases like diabetes. Teaching is an important part of their philosophy, enhancing the vibrant nature of the practice. The team is led by owners/General Practitioners Dr Kevin Zischke and Dr Jean Covey, supported by a practice manager, receptionists, and office assistants.

* Mixed Billing
* Nurse Practitioner/Diabetes Educator and Nurse support
Qualifications & Experience:
* AHPRA Registration with the Medical Board of Australia
* Sound knowledge of General Practice medicine
* CPR certificate
* Continuing professional development through RACGP – QA & CPD or ACRRM
Salary Information:
65% of gross billings.

Charters Towers is situated inland in the Burdekin River Valley, about 130kms southwest from the coastal port of Townsville. It is a heritage city of approximately 10,000 people, with amenities including a first-class theatre, gym, and various sports clubs. The Burdekin River offers fishing, canoeing, and camping for an outdoor lifestyle. RRMA 4 NQPHN (Northern Queensland Primary Health Network) oversees the area.
