The role of a Maintenance Hand is to deliver exceptional service to all guests through a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to our property facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. This role involves undertaking preventative maintenance, addressing maintenance issues promptly in collaboration with team members, and contributing to the overall guest experience. Based at our winery in Yarra Glen, we are seeking to appoint a Full or Part Time Maintenance Hand to join our team who is motivated, hands on, and reliable.The Role:Perform repairs on equipment, fixtures, and furniture as needed, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.Complete gardening tasks including mowing, weeding, trimming & spraying.Address and resolve urgent maintenance issues to minimise disruption to guests and staff.Ensure that facilities and public areas are clean, well-maintained, safe, and visually appealing.Collaborate with housekeeping and front office staff to address any maintenance-related concerns affecting guest satisfaction.Provide support and guidance to staff on minor maintenance issues or troubleshooting.Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of facilities and fixtures.Report any issues, damaged equipment, missing items or areas for improvement to management.Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests or complaints related to property facilities and features.The Benefits:Internal training and development opportunities to grow within the business.Up to 50% off wine, food, accommodation, and spa treatments.Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Free on-site parking.Uniform provided.Monday to Saturday work with every second weekend off.About You:Experience in building, maintenance or handyperson role.Proficient in a range of maintenance tasks including building maintenance & gardening. Experience using various tools and equipment safely and effectively.Strong diagnostic skills to identify and address maintenance issues efficiently. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems independently and creatively.Meticulous in performing maintenance tasks and inspections to ensure high standards of quality and safety. Notice and address minor issues before they become significant problems.Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing high-quality service to guests. Ability to handle guest requests and complaints with professionalism and empathy.Efficient in prioritising and managing multiple maintenance tasks and responsibilities. Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.Collaborative approach to working with other staff members and departments.
