Design & Build have partnered with a global leader in Concentrated Solar Thermal Power who are seeking a Senior Safety Advisor to join their high performing team in Sydney!
This role will provide support & guidance on Workplace, Health, Safety & Environment strategy, to build the capability of employees to recognise, assess & manage risk.
You will lead improvement & injury prevention initiatives facilitating the provision & maintenance of a harm free work environment & safety management system. This role requires the Senior Safety Advisor to build relationships with broader teams, contractors & service providers to support & standardise safety systems development & implementation across the organisation.
Perks & Salary: $140k - $150k + Super Hybrid & Flexible Work Arrangements Collaborative & Enjoyable Culture Occasional Interstate Travel to site (once a quarter) Office based in Sydney NSW Responsibilities Coordinate organisational Safety Meetings & Committee Meetings Participate in safety interactions & inspections Undertake incident & injury investigations identifying root cause, contributing factors & corrective actions Lead WHSE improvement initiatives & support injured workers duties plan for return to work/ Workcover Coach site team providing WHSE advice & lead WHS Internal Audit Facilitate risk assessments & maintain assessment records & actions Assess & deliver Process Safety Management practices (hazard & risk identification, risk management & review & improvement). Monitor incident statistics & production of WHS Monthly Reports Provide review & feedback to Senior Management regarding WHSE system documentation & processes Primary contact for interaction with various state & federal regulators Manage safety competency, skill assessment as well as implement training & development plans addressing competency gaps Co-ordinate delivery of WHSE training & monitor mandatory WHSE training compliance Maintain & improve accreditation to ISO45001 including audit coordination Lead WHS Internal Audit program Manage internal auditing schedules & sub-contract suppliers Identify themes from External Audits developing strategies & initiatives improving future compliance Establish & maintain data registers (chemical, lifting gear, confined space, electrical test & tag). Requirements: Qualifications in Workplace Training & Assessment, Auditing, Incident Investigation & Risk Management 5+ year's experience in safety across manufacturing &/or operations management Demonstrated experience in the management & application of ISO45001, 18001 &/or 4801 safety standards across Safety standard regulation understanding across NSW, QLD & SA.
