About the Role CSR is seeking an Electrical & Automation Engineer to support the commissioning and optimisation of a new, highly automated production line at our Villawood site.
This role will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless integration, operation, and continuous improvement of advanced manufacturing systems.
As a key technical expert, you will be responsible for electrical safety compliance, PLC programming (Siemens), SCADA system implementation, and automation enhancements to drive efficiency and reliability.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will play a critical role in troubleshooting, process optimisation, and supporting the long-term success of this cutting-edge facility.
This is a site-based, hands-on role suited for an experienced professional looking to contribute to a high-impact project in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This will be a 18 month fixed term contract commencing asap.
Key Responsibilities: * Work with Siemens PLCs – programming, troubleshooting, and fine-tuning automation processes.
* Support commissioning, SCADA system implementation, and vision systems for quality control.
* Drive efficiency improvements in automation, reducing downtime and increasing productivity.
* Partner with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
* Ensure all electrical systems meet Australian standards and CSR WHSE policies.
* Lead safety validation during commissioning (Certified Electrical Safety Engineer desirable).
* Complete and approve risk assessments, work permits, and JSEAs.
* Provide technical direction and recommend system improvements & act as the primary troubleshooting contact post-commissioning.
What We're Looking For: * Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Strong Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting experience - ESSENTIAL * SCADA & process control expertise - ESSENTIAL * Experience in automation within manufacturing, or heavy industry.
* A problem-solver who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
* Experience in Vision system is highly desirable.
