The RoleFIFO/ DIDO Qualified Pastry Chef /Bakery or Chef with Extensive Experience in Pastry & Bakery experience Salary $90k -97.75K salary plus super - Permanent 14 day on/7 day off Full Time Employment A passion for high-quality pastry, bakery and dessert creation in a high-volume kitchenProven experience in creating a rotational menu consisting of desserts, pastries, bakery items and various round tortes/cake of various flavoursReliability and a commitment to excellenceThe ability to work autonomously while contributing to a small, experienced teamProvide breakfast, crib lunch, desserts or dinner service for residents on site (be able to work both night shift and dayshift on 14/7 roster)Ensure food presentation, product presentation and meal service are to Sirrom standardsWork within budgeted food costsMaintain minimal food wastagePrepare and serve meals according to the menu and Sirrom Guidelines in line with client requirementsMaintain strict health and hygiene standards and systems in the kitchenWe're looking for candidates with:At least 2 years of experience working in remote mine-site villages or workforce camps.Hands-on experience with bulk catering, including pastry, bakery, breakfast and buffet-style service.Ability to lead a team, manage utilities, and deliver high-quality food and service.Supportive leadership, mentoring, and coaching for kitchen staff.Strong skills in food costing, budgeting, ordering, and stock control.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.Ability to maintain strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen.Friendly and considerate attitude to promote a positive work environment.To be considered, you must have or be willing to obtain:Chef Trade Certificate or Formal qualification in baking, pastry, or a related culinary field - Equivalent to Australian Trade Qualification (Minimum of Cert III in Commercial Cookery/Patisserie or higher)Food Safety for Supervisor's Certificate (desirable)Proof of current Right to Work in AustraliaNational Police Check - no more than 1 month oldTo be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug screeningOne of SIRROMS's goals for 2025 is to expand our Facilities Management network by hiring dynamic, talented and passionate new team members who can bring real value as we grow.
