We currently have an opportunity for a Development Assessment Officer - Building to join the team in our Planning and Economic department.
As Development Assessment Officer - Building you will get to:Ensure the efficient processing of Development Applications, Construction Certificates, Complying Development Certificates, and Complying Certificates in accordance with the requirements of the EP&A Act, State Government and Council Planning Policy.Assist Council in meeting its statutory obligations under the EPA Act, 1979.Ensure a professional and efficient delivery of building inspection services and development control of all building Classes as defined under the National Construction Code Series.What we offer...Permanent full time, 35 hours per weekEntry level for this position starts with an annual salary from $84,076.72 (salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience)Phone and laptopLeaseback (subject to contract agreement)What you'll need to be successful in the role...Qualifications in building construction and inspection and accreditation as a minimum A4 Accredited Certifier as defined by the NSW Building Professionals BoardClass C Drivers Licence.Experience assessing and determining Development Applications and issuing notices and orders.Experience assessing and determining Construction Certificates and Complying Development Certificates under the Construction Code Series and issuing notices and orders.Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills with a strong customer focus.Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.We understand the need for flexibility and can offer:Accrued flex time allowing up to two days off each month for indoor staffHybrid working arrangements e.g.
