About our roles:
Due to continued growth, we have a Building Inspector Cadetship servicing our Hunter Valley (Cessnock, Maitland, Singleton, Muswellbrook) region.
Our cadetship role will require the successful candidate to undertake the UTS Open short course and commence study of an Advanced Diploma in Building Surveying to become a registered certifier, as well as undertake hands-on learning to become a Building Inspector under the mentorship of a highly qualified team.
In these roles, you will be:
* working across a variety of residential projects
* learning to carry out assessments of Construction Certificates, Complying Development Certificates, Occupation Certificates, Crown Certificates and Building Code of Australia Reports
* carrying out critical stage inspections
* providing building compliance advice to a wide range of clients
* investigating and resolving customer requests
About you:
To be successful for our Building Inspector Cadetship, you will have a passion for the construction industry and a desire to build a career in certification. A trade background will be advantageous but not necessary.
What We Offer:
Begin your certification journey with an intensive training program in our Newcastle Head Office. This program is designed to equip you with the foundational skills needed to excel in your role.
The ability to complete the Newcastle based training is an essential requirement of this role.
After the initial training period, you will be mentored by an experienced accredited certifier where you will gain practical experience and training on the job.
For these roles, you will bring a pro-active approach, strong communication skills, and resilience, to enable you to develop positive working relationships and provide first-class service for our customers.
You will also bring to the role:
* a White Card and strong safety focus
* computer skills with Microsoft Office and Adobe and the ability to adapt to new systems and processes. Experience with MAC operating system advantageous.
* high level interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
* strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task whilst keeping projects on track
* a high attention to detail
* excellent problem-solving skills and the desire to find alternative solutions
* demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills
* a valid drivers licence and full working rights for Australia (i.e. Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold appropriate visa).
