About the opportunity
Our Care and Placement Services Program delivers support to vulnerable children and young people who are unable to live with their own families or are residing with family where intensive supports are in place.
As a Care and Placement Services Support Worker, you will work directly with children and young people residing in out of home care services. The role will assist children and young people with daily living tasks and will encourage them to develop and implement strategies to support positive behaviours. Support Workers will work in partnership with the wider care team to enhance the physical and emotional wellbeing and development of children and young people.

In addition to a base hourly rate commencing at $37.35 and superannuation, you’ll also receive a 25% casual loading. About you
To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including holding or currently studying a Diploma of Community Services or other qualification relevant to child, youth and family welfare.
You will also have:
* A genuine interest in and commitment to supporting children, young people and families in need
* Knowledge of the out of home care system and the resources and services available across the Gippsland region
* Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
* Ability to engage and build rapport with young people
* Willingness to work flexibly to suit the needs of children and their families
