The RoleThe Clinical Nurse Consultant – Drug & Alcohol is a district position that works across the sites to deliver senior leadership in the coordination and delivery of community treatment services, including opioid agonist treatment and ambulatory care services. The position works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide leadership in assessment, treatment, support, crisis intervention, care planning and evaluation of care in line with the NSW Health Clinical Care Standards: Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment.A primary purpose of this role is to engage and work closely with community based providers, particularly General Practitioners, to support them in the care of patients with alcohol and other drug problems. The position will provide consultation and liaison to care providers in community settings and establish a clear pathway for stepping care up and down to ensure that D&A care is being delivered in the most clinically appropriate setting. The CNC1 will provide consultation and liaison support in person and/or via telehealth.
