The Opportunity:
Due to our continued growth and expansion efforts, Ampcontrol WA are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our Kewdale team on a permanent, full-time basis and play a vital role in the success of our sales, engineering, and production teams. As part of the Solutions team, this position is critical in the preparation and submission of competitive tenders, helping Ampcontrol WA secure new business within the power distribution, energy, and mining sectors.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Assessing jobs and projects including the identification of requirements (scope of work, lead time, materials, labour, and process).
* Reviewing assessments, photos, supplier quotations and any other relevant data to formulate an accurate quotation on products and services ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
* Record keeping of all relevant information required for quotation (assessment, photos, supplier quotations, etc.) in the applicable job folder.
* Formulate variations in conjunction with customers, production team, and engineering department.
* Post review of jobs and projects, implementing corrective actions to improve quotation accuracy on future jobs and projects.
What We're Looking For:
Your capacity to demonstrate tolerance, and patience, whilst also understanding the importance of accuracy will be complemented by the following:
* A formal qualification OR equivalent experience in Estimating or Production Planning in the engineering, design, or construction disciplines.
* Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the resources and/or renewable energy sectors.
* A customer-oriented approach with strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Prior experience with electrical estimation and the preparation of tenders (Desirable).
* Advanced skills in relevant Microsoft Office software applications.
* Previous experience using a business database or an ERP/MRP.
* A high level of attention to detail, ensuring precision and accuracy in all aspects of work.
