While the firm’s work is predominantly family law and criminal law, it also provides services in estate planning and administration and conveyancing.
We are looking for a motivated, innovative and hardworking Solicitor who is experienced in all facets of Family Law to join our team at our Penrith office.

The Role :
As a Solicitor at our firm, you will be responsible for the carriage of Family Law Matters. You will have full autonomy whilst receiving support and guidance. This is a full-time position which will require you to work from the office and travel to Court (including travel outside of the NSW Metropolitan).

Key Responsibilities :
1. Working closely with the Principal on interesting, varied & complex Family law matters
2. Working autonomously and taking active carriage of files
3. Management of family law matters (both property and children)
4. Attending and running family law directions, interim hearings, dispute resolution conferences, conciliation conferences, hearings and other court commitments
5. Researching, drafting and managing all Court documents including applications, affidavits, financial statements, orders, balance sheets, case outlines, submissions
6. Preparing and reviewing disclosure documents
7. Independently and competently advising clients on matters including taking instructions, preparing letters of advice
8. General day-to-day correspondence and management of the file
9. All other aspects of file management
10. B Laws
11. Admission to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and High Court roll
12. Minimum 2-5 years post admission experience; however, more experienced candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
The ideal candidate will have :
1. A 'can-do' attitude and proactive approach in all aspects of Family Law
2. Strong communication skills, both orally and written
3. Strong attention to detail
4. Exceptional drafting skills and written work
5. Confident and experienced Advocate including appearing in hearings
6. Ability to work autonomously and be proactive
7. Willing to learn and adapt to new ways of doing things
8. Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and competing deadlines
9. A demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and organise workload to meet tight deadlines
10. Strategic thinker with a pragmatic approach to complex matter research and client outcome focus
11. Willingness and ability to complete administrative tasks when required
12. Must be quick and efficient with handling of files
13. Knowledge of PEXA and LEAP preferable but not essential
14. Desirable) Experience in Criminal Law
15. Desirable) Experience in Conveyancing
