About the Project:
The Parklife Metro consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney, in partnership with the NSW Government. This city-shaping project will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership model and will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney.
About the Role:
The Project Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and to the specified quality. This full-time position will be based onsite at Airport Terminal - Badgerys Creek.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure all quality and environmental aspects of the project are addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
* Monitor and control subcontractors' performance, ensuring the quality and standard of workmanship meets specifications.
* Assign responsibilities to personnel, integrating quality procedures.
* Maintain and apply relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements.
* Adhere to safety plans and communicate them to project team members, including suppliers and subcontractors.
* Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and relevant legislative requirements.
* Continually assess high-risk activities and hazards, recommending measures to control them.
* Demonstrate an understanding of incident prevention and reporting.
* Assist with expeditious resolution of safety issues as directed by the Senior Project Engineer & Site Supervisor.
* Participate in preparing Safe Work Method Statements with the work group.
* Provide support and advice on planning, design suitability, materials, resources, components, systems, construction practices, and problems.
* Develop and monitor implementation of construction methods, including audits.
* Manage documentation flow between Engineers, Site Supervisors, Consultants, Subcontractors, and the Project.
* Maintain a 4-week look ahead of the program and forecast labour hours and daily costs.
* Prepare project status reports and change orders.
* Manage cost control to ensure the project meets its performance targets in relation to budget/forecast.
* Assist in preparing monthly financial reports.
* Lead, motivate, and mentor site personnel, fostering positive team dynamics, staff morale, and work outcomes.
Criteria:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Civil, Structural) or Project Management.
* Minimum 3+ years of experience in the Construction industry post-graduation.
* Previous exposure to FPR & structures is mandatory.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum
