Motor Mechanic
Lion Auto and Panels Pty Ltd is an automotive repair and maintenance business that specializes in automotive mechanical, electrical repair and maintenance services. We are seeking qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team at workshop in 6, 19-25 Somerton Road, Campbellfield, Victoria-3061. This is for a well-established business, recognised as one of the leading auto electrical and mechanical service and tyre retailers in Melbourne.
Role
· Discussing problems with car drivers or vehicle operators to discover faults
· Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers
· Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
· Tuning engines using special electronic equipment and making fine adjustments (to carburetors, etc.) to ensure the vehicle runs smoothly
· Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, referring to service manuals as needed
· Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
· Testing and repairing electrical systems such as lighting, instrumentation, ignition and electronic fuel injection
· Reassembling engines and parts after they have been repaired
· Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle parts
· Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components
· Responding to vehicle breakdown service calls
To be successful in this role, you also must have excellent customer service and people skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a productive team.
Ideal Candidates
• Full trade qualification as a motor mechanic +
• With minimum 2 years of relevant experience, post-apprenticeship
• Customer-service focused, with positive attitude and work ethic
Benefits
Qualified candidates can look forward to competitive remuneration package of AU$75,000 plus superannuation per annum with full time permanent role, 38 hours per week.
