About The Position
Our large site at Herons Creek comprises both a Saw Mill and Dry Mill and is staffed with a welcoming and social team. We are seeking a Trades Assistant for our Saw shop who is looking for a new challenge to progress their career.
This role will see you working closely with the Saw doctors and although qualifications are not required for this role, if you have worked as a Trades Assistant previously or have a good knowledge of Tools and equipment, then this is the job for you. You might be at the start of your career or just looking for a change – either way, you must be willing to learn. Work will include Saw and saw guide changes on machine centres, machining saw guides, making saw guide babbitts, surface grinding cutter knives and assisting the saw shop with saw maintenance.
This is a Permanent Full-Time position working in a supportive team who are willing to train an individual if required. This position will work Monday to Thursday – 6:20am– 3pm and Fridays 6:20am – 12:40pm.
To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have
* Some knowledge and experience with Tools
* Previous experience in the timber industry is highly advantageous.
* A positive attitude and willingness to work in a team.
* A desire to learn and develop skills and expertise in a manufacturing environment
* Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
* A commitment to safety and workplace standards.
