About the position NCVER is seeking a Manager, HR & Business Services for a fixed-term contract from mid-April to 31 October 2025. Reporting to the Managing Director as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will lead the development and delivery of NCVER’s employee lifecycle and associated activities, and high-quality business support services. This position covers every aspect of people and culture and provides a unique opportunity to influence at the highest level, whilst engaging and working across the organisation. As the Manager HR & Business Services, you will: Manage, lead and deliver HR and business services functions including generalist HR services; HR reporting; payroll; recruitment; workplace relations; workplace health and safety; organisational development; executive and corporate support services, and facilities management. Support the delivery of organisational change initiatives. Facilitate Enterprise Bargaining negotiations. Lead organisational wide projects. Provide effective leadership, coaching and guidance to the HR & Business Services team. Provide expert advice and hands on support to empower and develop people leaders to effectively manage their staff. Develop, improve and implement policies, procedures, frameworks and performance metrics related to HR, workforce relations and business and employee services for the organisation. To succeed in this position, you will: Have highly developed skills and expertise gained through recent experience across all aspects of human resource management, complemented by a relevant qualification. Possess a people-oriented mindset, that is you have genuine regard for the well-being of people and understand that they are the key to our success. Have strong people leadership skills to engage, inspire, build trust and facilitate growth. Demonstrate the ability to think strategically and implement practical solutions. Possess strong business partnering, interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on achieving quality outcomes for all parties. Be highly motivated, self-managed and thrive on leading by example. Have working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, applicable legislation, with the ability to interpret Awards and Enterprise Agreements. Above all, have a hands-on approach. Although not essential, experience with Enterprise Bargaining, Chris21 payroll system and/or managing the provision of business support services would be advantageous.
