A permanent full or part-time position is available as an Anaesthetist within the Gladstone Hospital. The Staff Specialist will provide high-quality anaesthetic services and support direction, service planning, and clinical governance for the Anaesthetic Team, overseeing staff including GP Anaesthetists. Responsibilities include delivering general and regional anaesthesia and obstetric services such as epidurals and spinal anaesthesia. The role also involves participating in the out-of-hours on-call roster for the Hospital.
About us: Gladstone Hospital employs approximately 282 full-time equivalent staff who provide services in acute, community, and primary care settings. The Staff Specialist positions at Gladstone Hospital are supported by teams of Senior and Junior Medical Officers in each specialty department. The hospital also has full-time specialists in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Medicine, Surgery, and Paediatrics.
About the role: The Staff Specialist will provide safe, high-quality anaesthetic services and assist with direction, service planning, and clinical governance for the Anaesthetic Team, Pre-Admission Clinic, and High Dependency Unit, overseeing staff including GP Anaesthetists.
Responsibilities include delivering general and regional anaesthesia, as well as obstetric services such as epidurals and spinal anaesthesia. The role also involves participating in the out-of-hours on-call roster for Gladstone Hospital.
The successful Anaesthetist may work at multiple CQ Health sites, including Rockhampton, to attend peer reviews, education, and anaesthetic meetings, and to undertake cases beyond the Gladstone Clinical Services Capability Framework (CSCF). Occasionally, services may be required at other CQ Health facilities.
