Murtoa College Early Learning Victoria centre
Early Learning Victoria is seeking an experienced Centre Administrator to assist in establishing the new government-owned early learning and childcare centre at Murtoa College. Opening in 2025, this 57-place centre will offer childcare, Three-Year-Old Kindergarten and Pre-Prep for four-year-olds.
The Centre Administrator is being recruited ahead of the centre's opening to support crucial establishment activities, including centre communications, and setting up operational systems and processes.
About Early Learning Victoria
The Victorian Government is establishing 50 government-owned and operated early learning centres by 2032 as part of the Best Start, Best Life reforms. The centres will offer childcare, Three and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten and Pre-Prep. The centres will provide high-quality, accessible and inclusive early childhood education and care that is child-centred, focused on learning through play and in nature, with strong connections to local communities.
Early Learning Victoria's central office is in the Victorian Department of Education. The central team is leading the roll-out of the 50 centres and will support and oversee centre operations once they open.

About the role
The Centre Administrator will provide administrative support for all aspects of operation of the Early Learning Victoria centre. You will be integral to managing the centre's systems related to payroll, enrolments, attendance, and Child Care Subsidy. You will also be a key point of contact for families, greeting visitors to the centre and providing information and answering queries by phone, email and in person.
Key responsibilities
1. Work with Early Learning Victoria central office to prepare the centre for opening in 2025.
2. Provide information and support to families regarding enrolment, orientation and general operations of the centre.
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with families, colleagues, suppliers and Early Learning central team.
4. Data entry into the Child Care Management System, payroll systems and reporting.
5. Process payments.
6. Answer and direct telephone calls, ensuring prompt and professional responses to all inquiries.
7. Monitor centre security, including at entrances and exits.
8. Perform various administrative tasks as required, including communications, team planning, and accepting deliveries.
9. Operate in accordance with regulations and Early Learning Victoria policies and procedures.
Experience required will include
10. Previous experience working in an administration, with exposure to the early childhood sector preferred.
11. Experience in financial reporting and following organisational policies and procedures.
12. Confidence in using administrative software and systems, including excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
13. Effective communication and relationship-building skills with staff, families and communities.
14. Advanced organisational skills, including time management, multitasking, and prioritising tasks effectively to meet deadlines and support centre operations.
Specific skills/qualifications required
15. Qualification in business administration or related field highly regarded.
16. Cert III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher will be highly regarded.
17. Current Police and Working with Children's Checks.
