Salary from 113K; package to $150K inc. superThe Australian Bureau of Statistics is looking to fill various Technical Team Lead and IT Delivery Lead roles in our Technology and Security Division to help us modernise our data acquisition environment as part of the Data Modernisation Programme (DAMod).About the rolesThese roles are part of a larger programme that identifies, develops and implements future focused investments that reduce the cost and risk of data sourcing and support improvements to the provider experience, and deliver a more modern, efficient, partner-led Data Sourcing Division.These roles operate across various environments including our survey platform, test automation, payroll system, survey solution and data sourcing (data transformation and transfer).As a Technical Team Lead or IT Delivery Lead you will work in partnership with ABS business areas and with external stakeholders and suppliers to build technical capability, lead an effective group of ICT professionals, manage risk and deliver strategic IT projects in support of ABS business areas.As a Technical Team Lead you will have the opportunity to undertake technical work and will have a strong focus on hands-on ICT activity, with varying degrees of staff and project management responsibilities depending on the role.As an IT Delivery Lead you will lead Agile teams for the delivery of technical solutions and general project management, requiring skills including collaboration, teamwork, problem solving and critical thinking.Common responsibilities across the available roles include:Ensure the delivery of quality, architecturally aligned IT solutions to meet ABS business outcomes through leadership of a multi-disciplinary Agile team.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (including vendors), leveraging their expertise to resolve critical issues and inform decisions.Work closely with product owners and project managers to prioritise work and ensure business and IT outcomes.As a Technical Team Lead, you will also:Design, develop and maintain contemporary solutions in accordance with software development best practices, security policies and guidelines.Lead and manage a technical team.Provide technical advice and leadership.Apply DevOps practices and automation to the solution you are responsible for delivering.As an IT Delivery Lead, you will also:Plan and manage the technical delivery for complex projects across multiple IT teams.Track and report on technical project progress, identifying and addressing impediments to ensure successful and on-time delivery.What we are looking for (selection criteria)To be suitable you should have most or all of the following skills, qualities and experience:Experience in delivering enterprise ICT solutions in an Agile context.Ability to communicate, liaise and negotiate with a broad range of stakeholders.Ability to nurture positive working relationships.Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Leadership and team management experience.To be considered for a Technical Team Lead position, you will also need:Technical leadership experience, including the ability to mentor staff and contribute to organisational capability uplift.Staff and project management experience.Technical skills and experience in one or more of the following technologies is advantageous:Public cloud (AWS, Azure).Webservices and APIs (SOAP, REST and GraphQL).Application development (such as Java, .NET).To be considered for an IT Delivery Lead position, you will also need:Excellent verbal and written communication.Understanding of the software development lifecycle.Experience in public cloud technology (AWS, Azure).How to applyYou will need to be an Australian citizen to be eligible to apply.To apply, complete an online application form on the ABS e-recruitment system.You will need to upload your current resume, provide referee details and respond to the following:In no more than 500 words, provide an example of how you have applied your technical skills and/or leadership skills to deliver an IT solution for a business need.
