The Role
As a Technical Specialist - NSO in the Enterprise Services team at Optus, you'll lead the strategy, design, and delivery of key automation solutions for IP transport engineering.
In this pivotal role, you'll conceptualise the automation blueprint, define the roadmap, and integrate cutting-edge automation into network planning, design, deployment, provisioning, and operations.
* Configure, manage, and optimize Cisco NSO to drive efficient network automation and operational improvements.
* Develop and maintain YANG models to represent network services and devices, enabling scalable service automation.
* Create and support Network Element Drivers (NEDs) for diverse network devices to ensure seamless integration.
* Automate network workflows using NSO's service orchestration capabilities to streamline provisioning and operations.
* Collaborate on CI/CD pipeline development and integrate NSO with network management tools to enhance automation outcomes.
Key Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field, providing the essential knowledge and technical grounding for network automation.
* Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco NSO, including configuration, management, troubleshooting, and developing automation workflows.
* Strong understanding of core networking concepts and protocols like TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF, enabling the design of optimized automation solutions.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java to develop custom applications, automate network tasks, and integrate NSO with other systems.
* Experience implementing DevOps tools and methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines using platforms like Jenkins and Ansible.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex network issues and creating innovative automation solutions.
* Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across technical teams and explain complex solutions to diverse audiences.
