ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Finance & Business Services is responsible for managing the financial performance, business systems, and information technology strategy of Qudos Bank Arena.
You will play a key role in financial planning, payroll management, compliance, insurance, business systems and overall financial governance with a link to People and Culture.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to: Financial Management & Reporting Oversee the financial performance of Qudos Bank Arena, ensuring compliance with budgets and strategic financial objectives.
Prepare and review monthly financial reports, event profit and loss reports, and annual statutory reports.
Develop and manage financial forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow strategies.
Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, tax laws, audits, and financial regulations.
Provide financial leadership to support commercial decision-making, contract negotiations, and business growth initiatives.
Manage and drive the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance program to ensure continual improvement processes and internal audits are carried out to maintain certification.
Payroll Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
Ensure compliance with Fair Work regulations, Modern Awards, and Enterprise Agreements related to payroll in consultation with the Manager, People and Culture.
Ensure the Worker's Compensation claim lodgements and payments are processed in a timely manner in consultation with the Manager, People and Culture.
Collaborate with the Manager, People & Culture on wage budgeting, forecasting, and Enterprise Agreement negotiations.
Lead financial risk management, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks.
Business Systems & ICT Oversee the ICT systems, business intelligence tools, and financial software.
Manage the administration of database software systems, including Ungerboeck.
Ensure the effective operation of stock control and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Champion financial technology upgrades/enhancements and process improvements.
Leadership & Strategy Lead and mentor the Finance & Business Services team, ensuring professional development and high performance.
Work closely with senior management to drive strategic financial initiatives.
Manage insurance, legal compliance, and risk mitigation strategies for the Arena.
Chair the Business Plan Committee and drive the Arena's annual business planning process.
Act as a key liaison with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and corporate stakeholders.
Event & Venue Support Provide financial oversight for event settlements, estimates, and forecasting.
Support other departments with financial and business system advice including event operations.
Assist in the management of Arena service contracts, supplier agreements, and procurement processes.
Drive Workplace Health & Safety compliance and oversee Worker's Compensation insurance premium for financial operations.
ABOUT YOU CPA/CA qualified with a degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in senior finance roles, preferably in venue operations or the entertainment sector.
Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage financial, business, and ICT functions.
Expertise in Australian tax laws, compliance, and financial reporting.
Advanced proficiency in financial software, Microsoft Excel, and business management systems.
High-level stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Only candidates with current unrestricted Australian working rights will be considered for the role.
