Are you ready to take on a rewarding and impactful role as a Governance Officer, where you'll play a key part in enhancing governance across Northern Territory Government Schools?
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As a Governance Officer, you’ll provide advice, mentoring, and training on governance matters to schools across the Northern Territory. You’ll work closely with parents, families, and school communities to foster strong partnerships and support effective governance. You’ll help empower School Councils and Boards to thrive in their practices, ensuring that every school is equipped to meet the needs of students, families, and communities.

Engage with Diverse Communities: Work across a range of urban, rural, and remote school communities, gaining insights into the diverse needs and challenges faced by each.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
1. Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex legislative information clearly and effectively to a diverse audience.
2. Advanced MS Office Proficiency: Expertise in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly for documentation, reporting, and communication tasks.
3. Attention to Detail: Excellent administrative skills with a focus on accuracy in documenting and managing governance matters.
4. Cross-Cultural Competence: Proven experience in working within diverse cultural settings, preferably with an understanding of the Northern Territory context.
5. Confidentiality: Experience in handling sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
6. Availability after hours: Requirement to work some evenings and travel overnight during school terms.
7. Autonomy and Collaboration: Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as a member of a small, inclusive team.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
1. Experience in the delivery of training and/or education programs.
2. Experience with e-learning platforms and knowledge of web-based delivery methods.
3. Knowledge relating to school governance.
ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1. Working with Children Clearance (OCHRE Card)
2. National Police Check
3. Northern Territory driver's licence
4. Own vehicle is required
Must comply with relevant Chief Health Officer Directions, including vaccination requirements.
