About the role
The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a crucial role in the hotel’s operational success, assisting the Executive Housekeeper in maintaining property standards that align with guest expectations. This position is responsible for overseeing cleanliness in all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, food and beverage outlets, and public spaces.
Reporting directly to the Executive Housekeeper, this full-time role supervises a team of approximately 40 staff members. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude, hands-on operational experience, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in managing the Housekeeping Team, coordinating with hotel departments for all cleaning requirements.
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms to ensure they meet cleanliness and quality standards, addressing any issues promptly. Allocate daily workloads for room attendants, housemen, and public area cleaners. Assist in preparing and allocating VIP and sales site rooms daily. Help ensure rosters are aligned with forecasted business levels and accurately reflected in the payroll system. Support the approval of daily shifts and make adjustments to future rosters based on business demands. Contribute to recruitment, training, and development initiatives to maintain high performance and service standards within the team. Manage staff uniform inventories and collaborate with other departments to ensure adequate stock levels. Conduct regular inspections and walkthroughs to ensure cleanliness meets brand standards and guest expectations. Support compliance with WHS regulations and foster a safe working environment.

Skills & experience
* Experience in a supervisory role within Housekeeping, preferably in medium to large hotel or accommodation operation.
Proven ability to maintain high service standards and a hands-on approach to daily operations. Familiarity with Property Management Systems (PMS). Experience with Optii system is a plus. Basic understanding of budget management, payroll functions, and control of operating supplies and consumables. Ability to work efficiently and manage time in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Strong leadership skills to motivate and engage a diverse team. Knowledge of WHS standards and experience ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures. Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Professional appearance and demeanour, with a friendly and enthusiastic approach. Capability to handle high-pressure situations and adapt to changing operational demands.
