About the role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Sleep Technician. As a daytime Sleep Technologist, you will provide the highest quality sleep diagnostic and treatment services to adult patients, and research participants at our leading clinical sleep research centre. You will be integral to providing technical and clinical support to the Clinic and Diagnostic Service, including providing diagnostic polysomnographic testing services as required, and participation in quality assurance and staff training exercises. A Polysomnography Technician performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general supervision of the Sleep Lab Manager.
Duties and responsibilities
* Deliver excellent patient care and satisfaction
* Proficient patient monitoring and high-quality sleep study acquisition
* Perform day studies (multiple sleep latency test (MSLT)/maintenance of wakefulness test (MWT)/actigraphy)
* Set-up of home ambulatory sleep studies
* Accurate analysis and reporting of sleep studies
* Good clinical practice, infection control and patient record management
* Effective technical operation and maintenance of sleep study equipment
About you
* Minimum of 1-2 years experience caring for patients in a sleep laboratory setting
* Demonstrated proficiency to perform day studies and score studies (overnight polysomnography/MSLT/MWT) according to AASM standards
* Patient data management and follow standard operating procedures
* Technical knowledge of sleep acquisition systems and ancillary equipment (GRAEL, CPAP use, TcCO2)
* Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
* WWCC
* Current CPR certification
Desirable criteria
* Registered as a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
* Knowledge of infection control practices
* Sleep software knowledge (Nexus 360, Profusion)
