Job Description
We are seeking applicants for fixed-term employment as a Probation Officer or Case Work Support Officer with Community Corrections.
The role involves assessing offenders and providing comprehensive reports on their risk level and suitability for community-based orders. As a Probation Officer, you will help protect the community by supervising offenders and addressing their offending behaviors.
Prior training, experience, and qualifications are not required, but relevant tertiary or industry qualifications are desirable. Flexible options are available for part-time hours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess offenders within the corrections system and provide comprehensive reports on their risk level and suitability for community-based orders.
* Supervise offenders on community-based orders, addressing their offending behaviors and ensuring compliance with court orders.
* Work closely with the Courts, Parole Board, Tasmania Prison Service, and Tasmania Police to achieve rehabilitation and public safety goals.

* Ability to assess and report on offender risk levels and behavior.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
