Key Responsibilities:
As a Garment Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that their men's and children's ranges meet the highest standards of quality and fit. Your expertise will guide the development and production process, from initial designs to final products.
* Product Development & Fit: Work closely with the design team to ensure all garments meet quality, fit, and performance standards for both men's and children's collections.
* Technical Specifications: Create detailed tech packs, including measurements, trims, and fabric specifications for all styles.
* Pattern Corrections & Adjustments: Collaborate with pattern makers and manufacturers to resolve fit and construction issues, ensuring that garments maintain a high level of consistency.
* Quality Control: Oversee fabric testing, garment sampling, and production runs to ensure that quality control standards are met.
* Supplier Coordination: Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure accurate garment construction, fabric sourcing, and timely production schedules.
* Problem Solving: Troubleshoot any garment issues during production, proposing solutions to resolve technical or design challenges.
* Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in garment construction and manufacturing processes.
Skills & Experience:
* Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Garment Technician or in a similar technical garment role, ideally within menswear or children's fashion.
* Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and garment fit, with hands-on experience in pattern making, grading, and garment fitting.
* Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in technical specifications, garment testing, and quality control processes.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly, providing effective solutions during the design, development, and production phases.
* Software Proficiency: Experience using garment tech packs, Adobe Illustrator, and other relevant design and technical software.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, manufacturers, and suppliers.
* Passion for Fashion: A genuine passion for the fashion industry and an understanding of current trends, particularly in men's and children's fashion.
* Knowledge of Australian Market: Familiarity with the needs and preferences of Australian consumers, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, durable garments suitable for our local climate and lifestyle.
