The Youth Worker role within the HERE – Hope Empower Resilient Enable program is designed to support young people up to 18 years old who are at risk of disconnection due to mental health challenges. This role, part of a new initiative funded by Queensland Health, is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about youth mental health and early intervention. As a Youth Worker, you will provide non-clinical psychosocial support through one-on-one sessions and group activities, helping young people stay connected to their families, schools, and communities. Based out of Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, and Agnes Water, this role involves both direct client engagement and community networking to establish a cohesive support system for youth. You will work closely with families, schools, and other agencies to facilitate referrals, conduct assessments, and implement evidence-based support strategies tailored to each young person's needs. This position is integral to IMPACT’s mission to improve lives by fostering resilience and empowerment in the youth community.
To make a difference in this role, you will have experience in the following:
* Providing psychosocial support to youth, with experience in early intervention mental health programs.
* Conducting intake assessments, facilitating referrals, and managing cases with a strength-based, youth-focused approach.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a geographically dispersed team, maintaining connections with various community networks and support services.
