About the Role
Brisbane Private Hospital seeks a Head Chef to lead a team of 30 associates, managing food safety and quality for 180 patients, 100 VMOs, and 700 staff daily.
This hands-on role requires a passionate leader with expertise in rostering, lateral thinking, and food safety. The ideal candidate will maintain cleanliness and hygiene levels, prepare meals according to recipe guides, and manage stock control and ordering.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene levels of food preparation area and kitchen equipment
* Meal and food preparation for patients as per recipe guide
* Stock control and ordering for food supplies
* Maintain regular daily temperatures of refrigerators and freezers as per food safety standards
* Implement and monitor Food Safety Program
Requirements:
* Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cooking or equivalent, Certificate IV preferable
* Certificate in Safe Food Handling
* Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
* Good working knowledge and understanding of HACCP regulations
* Knowledge of IDSIS Framework
The successful candidate will work in unison with the Food Service Manager on future projects, including new menus, labour, and rostering.
