Within Chief Operations Office (COO), Retail Operations (RO) is the engine room of the CBA Group, driving the processes that deliver products and services to our customers. If you have taken out a home loan, opened a CommSec account, used an ATM, applied for a credit card, or made an international funds transfer, then you have interacted with one of the many aspects of GO.

Your Team
The Retail Credit Decisioning (RCD) team is a GO utility function that supports Retail Banking Services (RBS) lending teams (including Third Party Banking) by making responsible credit risk decisions within the Bank’s risk appetite statement and regulatory framework following a standard credit process with the focus on enhancing the financial wellbeing of our customer’s.
RCD is responsible for the credit assessment of all retail loan applications completed within the RBS Group which are unable to be automatically assessed via the Bank’s credit scoring systems. This includes new home loan, personal loan, personal overdraft, credit card applications and variation on existing retail lending loans such as partial discharge, consents and switching requests. Additionally, all Broker originated home loan applications are assessed by the team.
Your Responsibilities
Reporting to the Team Manager Credit Services, this role will see you responsible for the assessment and final decisions for Secured and Consumer Finance credit referrals. These will be received via the Proprietary and/or Third-Party Channels.
The objective of this role is to ensure accurate and effective credit decisions are made in a consistent, efficient and timely manner and to deliver excellent customer service. This will be achieved through the adherence to risk policies and procedures, support and active commitment to the credit training and your development, including active participation in cultivating positive behaviours and supportive language.
A thorough understanding of the Group Risk framework, practices and policies will be critical and understanding how these apply to the operational team for support and ongoing management will be expected.
You will also be expected to perform the following tasks:
1. Effective utilisation of your PCAA delegation to make safe, sound and responsible credit decisions.
2. Focus on efficiency and exercising of delegation in rework to deliver fast quality decisions for our customers.
3. Use consistency and good judgement with the application of policy when assessing applications to driving good customer focus outcomes.
4. Identify Continuous Improvement opportunities to simplify our business and to improve outcomes for our customers.
5. Delivering safe and customer focused, financial outcomes for the Group.
6. Ensure compliance within delegated authorities and internal and external compliance / audit requirements which may include adherence to government/governing body legislative policies.
7. Taking a values-based approach and building trust within our teams.
8. Professional clear and concise communication with key stakeholders (lenders, brokers and customers) with the ability to build rapport with these stakeholders.
9. Delivering on the RCD Strategic priorities plus business line partner priorities which includes outbound calls to the lending network in line with our service offering.
10. Responsible for the timely and accurate assessment of allocated New Business and Credit Variation applications within service level agreement.
11. Support the leadership team within RCD including the completion of Team Manager reliefs when required.

Your Skills & Experience
13. Industry related tertiary qualifications are an advantage but not mandatory.
14. PCAA to decision ‘’Complex” Credit applications
15. Personal Credit Underwriting Authority of $5 Million
16. Understanding of APRA, ASIC regulatory and responsible lending requirements and how this impacts policy.
17. Advanced knowledge in the analysis and income extraction of business financial statements for complex self-employed customers (company, trust and multiple entity trusts).
18. Advanced knowledge in the analysis of PAYG income documentation and valuation reports.
19. Excellent understanding of the retail lending policies, processes and procedures and application of these when completing loan verification at origination.
