Job Description
At JDE Peet’s we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Category Specialist looking for their next step as a Category Manager! You will be based in our North Sydney office with hybrid working (up to 2 days from home!)
As a Category Manager, you’ll work on our beans and ground category with established brands such as L’OR, Harris, JEDs and Campos. You’ll be a business partner to the Retail sales team and predominately focus on our Aldi, Costco, Big W, Amazon and BP accounts to provide them with valuable shopper insights as well as support our marketing team with NPD and related innovations.
In this role, you will:
1. Identify customer, brand, pricing, and shopper insights using scan and shopper data and shopper research
2. Develop the strategies and layouts designed to drive category, brand, and retail customer growth and unlock the full value potential from our portfolio of products and brands
3. Assist with the establishment of integrated category plans and the management and presentation of effective customer category reviews, including optimal product ranging and space management recommendations
4. Play a key role in the analysis, development and launch of new products and packaging (NPDs)
5. Review price and promotion strategies and provide revenue management analysis, insights & recommendations.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who ideally brings the below skills and experience. If you fulfil some of the requirements but not all, we'd still love to receive your application!
6. Experience performing successfully in a Category role (Category Analyst, Category Manager, Category Specialist or Assistant Category Manager), ideally within FMCG
7. Strong analytical skills, the ability to collect and interpret data, identify insights and develop growth strategies with an understanding of the Australian retail landscape
8. Proficient with Excel (formulas, pivots) and PowerPoint
9. Strong communication and customer-facing presentation skills
10. The willingness to work collaboratively and the curiosity to learn from others
11. Strong financial acumen
12. Valid long term AU work rights
13. Preferred software experience: Circana, Quantium, Synergy, PowerBI, and space planning software using Symphony and/or ProSpace (please comment on the software you have experience with in your application letter)
