Established in 1991, Danila Dilba Health Service (DDHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation committed to providing culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care services and community development within the Biluru (Aboriginal) community of the Yilli Rreung (Greater Darwin) Region in the Northern Territory.WHAT YOU WILL DO Contribute in developing and implementing strategies to meet goals set in the provision of comprehensive primary health care to the Indigenous people of the Greater Darwin Area.Triage and treat walk-in clients and provide best practice, evidence-based acute care including emergency care according to CARPA guidelines.Maintain clinic emergency room to DDHS and AGPAL standards.Collaborate with members of the DDHS multidisciplinary team and external services to facilitate care and follow up of clients to support optimal health outcomes, including recalls where required.Provide education, mentoring of trainees and in-services as required on topics relating to acute and emergency care.Assist GPs and other medical staff with procedures/office tests including but not limited to ECG, Spirometry, etc.Screen patients, attend health checks and assist in the provision of chronic care as required.Manage acute and chronic, simple and complex wounds.SELECTION CRITERIA Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in acute and/or emergency care.Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in cannulation and venepuncture.Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution with people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds.IN RETURN WE OFFER6 weeks annual leave.5 days paid leave during end-of-year shutdown (additional to annual leave).Salary packaging up to $15,990 per annum, plus additional packaging options.Career development and training opportunities.For further information please contact - Louise Beahan | Clinic Manager Palmerston | EMPLOYMENT IS SUBJECT TOWilling to undergo a Police Check.Ability and willingness to obtain a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).Current driver's licence.Current CPR certificate or the preparedness to gain one within 6 months of commencement.Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or an exemption as listed on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) must be submitted. #J-18808-Ljbffr
