As the Technical Discipline Manager for Water & Wastewater, you will be reporting to the Engineering Service Line Operations Manager.
You will work closely with our other 23 Technical Discipline Managers across the Built Environment, Energy, Infrastructure, Mining, Power, and Manufacturing/Industry sectors.

Key Responsibilities Job tasks and responsibilities This is a national leadership role, providing the opportunity for the right candidate to grow and influence the direction of our water & wastewater team.
You will be responsible for leading activities in the Water & Wastewater discipline and collaboration across our specialist SLR network to ensure successful project delivery, sustainable business performance and motivated staff, which includes: Technical leadership of staff and projects, ensuring innovation, excellence, and quality Close collaboration with our multi-discipline teams of specialist engineers, scientists, and planners Leading and contributing to winning work by identifying and converting opportunities into projects through existing and targeted client relationships Developing, facilitating, and enhancing relationships between our internal and external clients and SLR team members Building and maintaining strong client relationships across public and private sectors Achieving excellent financial performance through application of sound project management techniques and strong project governance Growing a sustainable high-performing business, commensurate with market conditions, opportunities and business expectations.
Managing workload through effective resource management skills, both within the team and working with and supporting other technical discipline managers Demonstrated knowledge of relevant State and National legislation and policies, standards and guidelines; providing advice and assistance on projects regarding best principles and practices Demonstrating a commitment to your team member's professional growth and development through active and regular engagement Skills and experience Our ideal candidate will have 15+ year's industry experience, be a strong leader and have: Tertiary qualifications in Civil / Mechanical Engineering or other relevant degree.
Post-graduate qualifications are advantageous Chartered member of Engineers Australia and/or RPEQ.
A strong track record of providing input into broader specialist services Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of legislative requirements, industry guidelines and standards and how these integrate within the water and wastewater industry.
Demonstrated experience leading and managing consultants to achieve corporate goals and objectives.
Demonstrated experience across a diverse range of sectors, including Mining, Built Environment, Industry, Oil and Gas; and Energy Demonstrated commercial acumen, good organisation skills and attention to detail Excellent communication skills and technical report writing Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation and ability to work effectively within a team A strong track record in building, nurturing and maintaining ongoing client relationships Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of quality assurance procedures and documentation to meet industry standards and ensure technical excellence in delivery.
