Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 per year + sign on bonus

Based in Toowoomba, the Obadare Group has established itself as one of the leading engineering, heavy fabrication, and inspection companies, servicing clients in the oil and gas, petrochemical, mining and mineral processing, power generation, industrial processing, and transport industries throughout Australia.
What are we looking for? An experienced machining professional to manage our machined and threaded products division.
As a key part of the Obadare team, you will take control of the machining division with a clear focus on improving delivery times, increasing efficiency of products produced, and growing the division. You will be involved in all machining scopes of work from enquiry to production and final delivery. Given our diverse range of products and services, we are open to different backgrounds and experience; however, a solid base in technical products, manufacturing environments, or exposure to the machining trade is essential.
The day-to-day of the role: Reading technical manufacturing drawings and understanding scopes of work for the machine shop Active involvement in product development, sales, and quoting for the machined products division Customer service: taking enquiries, providing project updates, scheduling customer deliveries, and incorporating customer feedback Machine programming, reviewing first run parts, and coordinating work based on machine efficiency and availability Assistance to the procurement team for machined products, including reviewing bills of material and advising on machining requirements Supervision and management of the machine shop team (4-6 people) Completing MDR requirements and any QA/QC tasks assigned to the machining division Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing suppliers for machining tools and components Minimum Requirements: Trade qualified or experienced machinist or fitter and turner Experience in management and supervision of small to medium teams Intermediate skills in Microsoft software, primarily Outlook and Excel Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Organizational and time management skills Experience working within cross-functional teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
