Join a supportive and multidisciplinary finance team located at MILVEHCOE, Redbank, Ipswich.
About the Role
The Financial Accountant will be part of the finance team with a key focus on financial accounting, financial reporting, external audit and treasury requirements. The role will also assist in preparation of Australian and NZ BAS submissions. This role will require you to liaise with many stakeholders, both internal and external.
This is an 12-month Fixed Term Contract role that can be located in either Redbank, Ipswich, QLD OR Melbourne, Victoria, VIC.
As Financial Accountant, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
1. Perform daily reconciliations of bank transactions and credit cards;
2. Manage inter-company accounts payable and reconciliations;
3. Prepare month-end journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded;
4. Report RDA financials into Group consolidation;
5. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports covering balance sheet, profit & loss statement and internal management reports;
6. Assist with reviewing of expense records;
7. Assist in cash flow forecasting and hedges;
8. Assist in preparation of monthly BAS for Australia and New Zealand;
9. Liaise with external Auditors, Bank Managers and suppliers; and
10. Identify new initiatives that could benefit the organization.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
11. Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Accounting or similar discipline;
12. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in general accounting practices including accounting standards;
13. Experience with an ERP accounting module (SAP preferable);
14. Advanced MS Office skills i.e. MS Excel (VLookUp, Pivot Tables); and
15. Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
