The C-27J complements the Australian Defence Force's existing Air Mobility fleet and provides airlift of people, equipment and supplies to support Humanitarian Disaster Relief and crisis response in Australia and nearby regions.We are seeking an experienced Program Business Manager to join the C-27J Leadership Team and lead a high-performing financial team. In this role, you will provide strategic financial leadership, ensuring precise financial management across all aspects of the program. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, you will drive financial performance, implement robust controls, and deliver essential financial reporting that supports program objectives.Your Role Lead and mentor a high-performing business management team, fostering collaboration and a results-focused culture. Oversee accurate and compliant financial reporting, including CAM reporting, rolling forecasts, and invoicing. Collaborate with the Program Director, Control Account Managers, and other senior stakeholders to ensure optimal financial performance and the achievement of program objectives. Act as the financial authority on project controls, cash flow management, and forecasting, providing expert advice and direction. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial strategies to align with program goals. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, negotiating financial matters and ensuring robust governance and control. Ensure adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and industry best practices. About You Tertiary qualifications in accounting or equivalent, with CA or CPA accreditation. Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams in complex and fast-paced environments. Strong experience in managing financial controls, policies, and procedures, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks. Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with complex stakeholder groups. Experience working within defence-related projects and familiarity with contractual drivers. Strong ability to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.
