If you possess an eye for detail and a proactive mature attitude, accompanied with a desire to work in a fast-paced kitchen, alongside a diverse team whilst continuously striving to deliver high quality food, we encourage you to apply.The successful applicant will be responsible for:Preparing meal ingredients as well as washing, peeling, chopping vegetables and fruitsPreparing basic salads and sauces as directed by the Executive ChefReceiving deliveries and verifying ordered items have been delivered and are of good qualityTaking inventory of restaurant supplies and notifying Executive Chef of low or depleted suppliesDiscarding all expired and spoiled food items stored in the stock rooms, refrigerators, and freezersPerforming cleaning duties and ensuring that workstations are properly sanitisedPlating and presenting meal items as per the Executive Chef's instructionsUnderstanding the need to oversee relevant costs, including labour, food and operational expensesBeing reliable and self-motivated with a strong work ethicUpholding strict health, hygiene and safety standardsPlanning and managing food quantities and plating requirements for the food operationAbout youQualifications in Commercial Cookery/Culinary Arts from a registered training providerProven hospitality hotels kitchen experienceAbility to lift, push and pull large objects up to 50lbs (23 kg), bend and kneelGood reading, writing and basic maths skillsNatural positive demeanour, able to communicate clearly in EnglishProven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to work collaboratively within a multicultural diverse teamFlexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidaysComprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and WH&S standardsDemonstrated experience working in a 4- or 5-star hotel (desirable)Ability to work unrestricted in Australia - full working rightsCulture and BenefitsSupplied meals during allocated rostered shiftsDiscounted onsite car parkingDiscounted laundry servicesDaily discounted coffee and dining menu, including our world famous LaBoca Bar and GrillHow to ApplyIf you have the experience, we'll give you the opportunity.
