An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Pacific Gympie in the role of Parts Interpreter. Pacific Gympie, is part of the Pacific Dealership group with three dealership locations at Gympie and the Sunshine Coast and includes brands such as GWM, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Honda, JAC and Goodyear Autocare. The Pacific Gympie dealership group is family-owned and has been operating for over 20 years in the Gympie and Sunshine Coast region and provides jobs to over 90 people locally. You will be joining a friendly, and positive team who are passionate about all things automotive, achieving exceptional customer satisfaction and achieving high results. We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Parts Interpreter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting customers and internal staff in identifying, sourcing, and supplying the correct parts for a range of vehicles. You will use your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure a seamless parts supply process. Key Responsibilities: Assist customers (in person, via phone, and online) in identifying and selecting the correct parts. Interpret technical drawings, catalogues, and databases to locate parts. Provide accurate pricing and availability information. Process orders, invoices, and payments efficiently. Maintain stock levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment. Liaise with workshop staff and technicians to ensure correct part allocation. Handle warranty claims and returns in accordance with company policies. Maintain a high level of customer service and build strong relationships with clients. Skills & Qualifications Previous experience as a Parts Interpreter, Parts Salesperson, or similar role (Dealership experience is highly desirable). Strong understanding of parts catalogues, electronic databases, and inventory systems. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Computer literacy and familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems. A valid driver’s license. Certification in Automotive Parts Interpreting or relevant trade qualification. Experience in a dealership or workshop parts environment. Knowledge of inventory management software (e.g. Pentana Era Link).
