About The Role As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant you will provide personalised support to older Australians in Townsville and surrounding suburbs, helping them to continue living independently in their own homes. This role requires travel between clients' homes, with a willingness to travel up to a 60 km radius, as you will be performing back-to-back, short shifts while supporting multiple clients each day. We have a number of part time and casual opportunities available. Your working hours will be in between 7am to 7pm, availability to work on weekends and evenings between 4pm and 7pm will be advantageous. No sleepover shifts required. This is a great opportunity for someone who is new to the industry and passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community. Key Responsibilities Domestic duties which may include but are not limited to: vacuuming, mopping, washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, emptying bins, washing/ironing Preparation of meals and obtaining groceries on behalf of clients Assisting clients in organising medical appointments Be aware of safety issues and report hazards in the working environment including recording any changes in clients health or behaviours of concern Skills & Experience Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar) is preferred An Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance. Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment) Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check and complete an Aged Care Statutory Declaration.
