About the role:
The Head of Maintenance is a key leadership role within the Property function of RSL LifeCare’s Retirement Living and Residential Care business, responsible for establishing and governing a consistent and transparent approach to maintenance operations. This includes compliance management, asset lifecycle planning, safety oversight, quality, procurement strategy and contracting, and the centralised management of maintenance contracts across the organisation. Operating within a matrix structure, this role reports into the General Manager-Asset Management.
Initially, the role will lead with setting the Maintenance Strategy, undertaking engagement to secure business support and alignment on this for the strategy. Your demonstrated experience in change management and leadership is pivotal to the success in transitioning current maintenance operations over to the strategy.
You’ll be expected to:
* Develop, establish and implement an overarching maintenance strategy to ensure facilities are well-maintained, compliant, and consistently operationally efficient across the business.
* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements relevant to aged care facilities.
* Oversee budgets, procurement and contract management for maintenance-related expenses.
* Collaborate with senior management to plan long-term maintenance and infrastructure projects.
* Alongside site-based management, build an engaged maintenance team (over 100 team members across NSW & the ACT) that aligns with our Vision and Purpose, Core Values and Maintenance operating principles.
A bit about you:
* Tertiary qualifications related to Project Management, Property Maintenance, Construction or similar.
* Minimum 10 years direct experience in maintenance delivery aspects across a portfolio of multi-sited, high-value assets in an environment where physical safety, security and wellbeing is paramount.
* Demonstrated ability to manage the financial aspects (budgeting, forecasting, procurement and negotiation) of the maintenance function and effective management of stakeholders and contractor relationships.
* Significant project management experience and well-honed conceptual, analytical, problem-solving, reporting and time-management skills.
* Demonstrated ability in building operational excellence through development of policies, procedures, process and engagement of workforce to achieve improvement targets.
