About the Role Join our team and make a difference in your local community by playing a crucial role in catering to the unique requirements of individuals utilising our Queensland Community Support Scheme (QCSS). Your mission is to employ a person-centred approach, helping clients to attain their goals and fulfil their support needs. You are required to travel as you will support multiple of our QCSS clients a day within their home around the Gold Coast & surrounding suburbs. One of the people you will be supporting is an older male of Ethiopian background and is looking for a Support Worker to assist with domestic assistance including his love of cooking Ethiopian food. This is a casual position which offers flexible working hours tailored to your lifestyle, catering to school hours if needed. All working hours are between the hours of 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities Assist clients to improve their independence according to their identified needs and goals inclusive of: In home supports: Domestic assistance such as light cleaning and housework Assistance with meal preparation Skill development Personal care Community Connections supports: Social support & linking Shopping assistance Assist clients to improve their independence in according to their identified needs and goals Establish a rapport and collaborate effectively with clients and their family Skills & Experience Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar) is required An Australian Driver’s Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle Demonstrated ability to work with people from Diverse Cultural Backgrounds Blue Card is required Excellent organisational skills, hygiene practices and problem-solving abilities Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment) Benefits Work independently whilst supported by a dedicated leadership team Simple and easy to use technology to record your timesheets and kilometres Frameworks and policies in place providing you with clear guidelines and support Casual hourly rate from $41.76 per hour Super 92 cents per kilometre Receive up to $15,900 of your annual salary tax free through salary packaging benefits which means more money in your pocket Be paid for two full days to complete your induction Development and progression opportunities nationally Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check.
