About ICU Intensive Care Unit is a 20 bed general unit catering for the needs of the area with key specialties including cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery and general surgery as well complex medical cases. We also provide specialist care for patients admitted through the hospitals’ busy emergency department, and plays a key role in the hospitals’ Clinical Emergency Response. About the Role The position of Clinical Nurse Educator - Intensive Care Unit will work closely with the current Clinical Nurse Educator and the Education Services Department at NBH. We are currently seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, suitably qualified, experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to support the high level of commitment to education and training. Essential Criteria: Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA Minimum 5 years Post Graduate experience Critical care Certificate Grad certificate or above in Education High Level clinical skills and proven experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator Excellent communication skills and high degree of computer literacy Highly motivated and able to work independently Accountability for own performance and behavior Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and motivate staff Highly developed planning and organizational skills Evidenced ability to work within a team Desirable Criteria: Cert IV TAE, or working towards Advanced Life Support certification As a Clinical Nurse Educator your role will: Identify the learning needs of the staff within the specialty. Demonstrate clinical expertise and professional role modelling Promote a high standard of evidence based nursing care to all patients, through dissemination of current best practice knowledge. Orientate, induct and brief new staff/Graduates/students to the facility and their roles and responsibilities during the clinical placement. If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2024, a salary ranging from $51.17-$52.86 per hour.
