About the Role
Bridge IT is seeking a Infrastructure & Automation Lead to join our Federal Government client. The successful candidate will undertake technical landscape design, installation, configuration, deployment, technical security, and operation of ICT components and databases.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Design, build and administer the Production and Development/Test environments of Deployable Local Area Networks and Datacenter networks, based on the following technologies:
1. Windows Server 2008 R2 (and later)
2. SharePoint 2010 (and later)
3. VMWare 6.5 (and later)
4. Exchange 2010 (and later)
5. SQL Server 2008 (and later)
6. SCCM / MDT
7. Software Defined Networking – VMware NSX
8. Hyperconverged Infrastructure – Nutanix
9. Red Hat Linux 7.4 (and later)
1. Design and implement Automation & Orchestration toolsets in alignment with LNICS DEVOPS practices including technologies such as:
1. Powershell/PowerCLI
2. Ansible
1. Install, configure and administer military software applications (including Windows and Linux based servers and applications)
1. Install and configure shared storage devices, such as NETAPP, and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure such as Nutanix.
1. Design, Install and manage the security architecture of Datacenter and Local Area Networks, based on the following technologies:
1. ForeScout
2. Splunk
3. McAfee
4. Cisco networking (routing/switching/firewall)
5. VMware Virtualisation
6. Software Defined Networking – VMware NSX
1. Develop training package material to describe the implementation of technologies and applications on Army Mission Command systems.
1. Conduct on-the-job training to Army, Navy and RAAF technical tradespersons, and other technical and non-technical staff.
1. Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support to Army exercises for role specific technologies and systems.
1. Review, advise and contribute to the design of application or system integrated solutions for Land Network systems, and use the outcomes to inform CASG, Joint Capability Group and CIOG of technical readiness and capability options.
1. Develop system design documentation, and maintain configuration control of the SOE environment, documentation, as well as the various implementations on the Test and Development and Production Mission Command environments.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
1. Qualifications and practical experience in the skills described previously.
2. Qualifications or practical experience with the following systems or emerging concepts:
1. Virtual Reality platforms
2. Software Defined Networking
1. Extensive (greater than 10 years) experience in the field of SOE administration and application integration; preferably within Government Local Area Networks within the deployable Defence domain.
1. Qualifications or practical experience with core CISCO based networking technologies.
1. Qualifications or practical experience with core VMware based network technologies.
