As an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Maitland Hospital, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality obstetric and gynaecological care to our patients. From the birthing suite to acute gynaecology consultations and antenatal/postnatal care, your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the health and well-being of women throughout their pregnancy journey. Your responsibilities will include attending morning handover at 0800hrs on all days rostered on call, conducting ward rounds of gynaecology, antenatal, and high-risk postnatal patients. While adherence to these duties is paramount, exceptions may be made if fatigue from overnight clinical work necessitates a later ward round. Compliance with NSW Health requirements, including timely consultant review of new admissions within 24 hours, is essential. Locums presenting for more than 4 days on-call will require a mandatory rest day for fatigue management.
